Chaos. I grew up in chaos. We were the dysfunctional family everyone talked about behind closed doors complete with a crazy mother nicknamed Yellin' Ellen. I know, everyone thinks their mother was crazy. But between her manic behavior and a screaming, critical voice, emotional and verbal abuse was an understatement. It was the overarching power that guided me through childhood and adulthood. Ironically, karma intervened, my mom got sick and had her voice box surgically removed. No, I couldn't make this stuff up. Now it was up to me to take care of the woman whose sole purpose in life had been to belittle me.
